Josh Martin

The founder of Adventure Guide, Josh Martin, has been an outdoor enthusiast since he was a young lad. While he enjoys regularly packing up the 4X4 with partner Jessie and heading out for camping adventures, Josh’s passion squarely sits with adventure riding.

A lifelong motorbike enthusiast since the age of ten, Josh blends his passion for motorbikes with camping and fly fishing. Over the past 15 years, he has dedicated himself to exploring the remote corners of the South Island — especially enjoying the challenging Grade 4 and 5 tracks. He takes pride in riding, recording, and sharing high-quality track information with fellow adventurers through Adventure Guide.

Track Scouts

While Josh has personally ridden, logged, photographed, and documented over 2,000 routes, huts, campsites, and AdventureTokens, the scale of Adventure Guide eventually became too great for one person to manage alone. This gave rise to the Track Scouts.

Track Scouts are similar to Linesmen for the TET — an enthusiastic group of knowledgeable adventurers who love exploring New Zealand’s track network, and are passionate about sharing information with fellow adventurers. They help ensure the information on Adventure Guide stays as up-to-date and accurate as possible, and Adventure Guide remains as the logical option for adventurers that want the best info.
